When you close off your sipre, the path finding algorithm for the animals and gnomes probably ends up in a really nasty failure loop which is probably causing the nearly frozen game condition.

Fantastic remake and really appreciate all the help you're giving on https://discord.gg/qAmfB8T Love how faithful you're staying to the original, improving what needs improving, and putting in all the time to dial it in.

Same, I appreciate the jam version exists and stays up. You could consider a separate itch page for the "modern" version if desired. Obviously easier for an indie team to focus on one shop at a time, though. So if Steam is your path and it's working, sticking with that makes sense. Great continued work!

WINE works on Catalina. That said, you wouldn't want to run this on that. And this is just a GUI for a bunch of open source software linked at the end of the description above. You can run most of that software on macOS just fine, you just won't have this specific GUI frontend for it. e.g. https://github.com/nihui/rife-ncnn-vulkan/releases

This GUI is still awesome and helps a lot of people, but it is not necessary for running the software it's using under the hood.

Controls aren't working for me in macOS on Chrome :(

I really love this concept! Good luck on development.

Would appreciate a macOS build :)

did you try moving the game to a different folder? that usually fixes this.

In fact, he gives instructions on how to run in macOS:

Found 191/192 fruits, loved the Windows 95 easter egg, but after an hour or so of looking for that last fruit, had to give up for now. Love the concept, the artwork, and the music. The ability to change tracks with the portals was fantastic. The multiple hidden caves and nooks and crannies rewarded exploration. It would be nice to be able to invert x/y on the analog sticks however you wish. It would also be nice to have better smoothing for the keyboard controls. I did get stuck in a block once, perhaps if the character doesn't move outside of a certain radius over a certain time you should respawn? It would be nice to maybe get some hints on the last fruit? Overall, I had a pleasant experience, great work!
